titizlikle işlenir. |

Canoon is an oriental zither. In contrast to the related instrument that is
played in the Alpine countries this instrument is strung with gut-oder
nylon strings. Interestingly the bridge does not stand on the wooden
soundboard but on a parchment (drum skin), similar to the banjo.
This results in a very characteristic tone.
In Dr. Cengiz Sarıkuş's workshop , canoon is produced when a special
order received . The back and chest, made of hardwoods .especially
from the old & classic pianos which are aged 100 or 200 years,
Dr. Cengiz Sarıkuş has 10 Antic Otoman canoons in his workshop.
Four of them made before the year 1900 and the rest belong to the
period after 1900.
